Newspaper Listings

These records were compiled and contributed for use by members of the Cheyenne Genealogical and Historical Society over a period of years. Many of the years replicate indexes of volumes that are on the shelves at the Laramie County Library Genealogy Department. We have attempted to retain the character of the work in those volumes.

You will notice two different "record types" in the files below. A "C" indicates that a newspaper clipping of the event is available at the Library at the indicated page number in the volume. An "F" indicates that the event can be found on microfilm of Laramie County newspapers housed at Wyoming State Archives, and the page number represents the page of the newspaper on the date shown. We will be happy to assist you in acquiring a copy of that microfilm item. Contact us at

cghswyoming@gmail.com with your request. Initially, the compilations included only obituaries as they appeared in the newspapers. More recently, notation has been made of Births, Marriages, and Anniversaries as well. Those items are noted in the "Event" column.

The dates of the records in the first group extend from 1956 through 2008. At this time, however, there are some gaps. There are no records for 1961, 1964, and the months of May 1981 through December 1981. If you do not find the record you are seeking, please try an alternate spelling; we have noted inconsistencies in the original records.
